A prevalence of hypertension in 5-15yrs age of school going children in and around Kanchipuram
Abstract
: In the present study was to investigate that the prevalence of hypertension in 5-15yrs age of school going children in and around Kancheepuram. Hypertension is one of most important and common cause of morbidity and mortality in the world. It plays an important role development of ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, cardiac and renal failure. This study was Cross Sectional, Descriptive and analytical study conducted by department of community medicine in rural and urban school going children in an around Kanchipuram from October 2017 to October 2018. The prevalence of hypertension was studied in three groups namely Normal, Pre hypertension and hypertension Out of 1020 school going children’s. 40 had Hypertension, 69 belonged to Prehypertension and 911 belonged to Normal. In the present study we conclude that the risk of hypertension in obese children six times more compared with overweight students.
