Abstract : The covid-19 pandemic is a major public health crisis globally and has affected the practice of medicine and dentistry. The objective is to compare the effects of immediate pre-covid-19 period and the covid-19 period in our private dental practice. This was a retrospective study conducted at pre-covid-19 pandemic (January-December, 2019) and during covid-19 pandemic (January-December, 2020) in a private dental clinic in Najran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our dental clinic runs services based on three Departments (Clinical, Administrative and Research). Patients demographics and turnout with new and follow-up cases were recorded during both periods. Total number of new patients during the pre-covid-19 (2019) era was 2,271 while during the covid-19 (2020) era was 2,535. In terms of patients visit to the center, 18,176 patients visited the dental clinic in 2019, while 19,842 visited in 2020. Regarding dental services rendered, 9,596 services were rendered in 2019 while 16,039 were rendered in 2020. It was observed from this study that there was a sharp drop in patients visit to our clinics because of the total lockdown put in place by the government. This, however improved during the partial ease of lockdown.
