PERCEPTION OF PHYSIOTHERAPY STUDENTS ABOUT EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT IN LAHORE: A DESCRIPTIVE CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY
Abstract
: Educational environment includes physical, mental and socio-cultural elements that affect the students in an institute. Educational Environment plays an important role in determination of student’s academic success. Assessment of educational environment is mandatory for determining the success or failure of the institute. The objective of the present study was to determine the perception of physiotherapy students about educational environment in Lahore. This study was a descriptive cross-sectional study. Sample size was 584. Simple random sampling method was used for data collection. 284 male and 300 female students participated in this study. The data was collected from the students of Azra Naheed Medical College, University of Lahore, Lahore Medical and Dental College (LMDC) and Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore by using DREEM (Dundee Ready Educational Environment Measure questionnaire. Out of total 584 participants, 53(9.1%) had perception that there are a lot of problems in education environment, 523(89.6%) reported that educational environment is positive, and only 8(1.3%) said that education environment is excellent. The students were overall positive about their education system
