QUALITY OF LIFE OF SYMPTOMATIC IRAQI WOMEN ATTENDING OUTPATIENT OF ONCOLOGY HOSPITAL FOLLOWING TREATMENT OF BREAST CANCER DURING 2019
Abstract
: Breast cancer is the most common invasive cancer in women; studies have shown that the initial stages of adjuvant therapy and the time after that are transition times of decreased quality of life in breast cancer patients. To find out the association of women breast cancer experienced symptoms and quality of life assessment after treatment and to find out if there is any association between participants certain demographic data and quality of their lives. Across- sectional design was conducted during seven months period, on 400 breast cancer female patients after treatment , using a self-structured questionnaire that was derived from previous literatures ,which was modified by the researcher, Students-t-test ,Chi-square test was used .Statistical significance considered when the P value < 0.05. Participants age ranged (40-49) (32.3%), (64.8%) of them were retired with (32%) of them with primary educational level. Poor scores were obtained in the psychological, level of independence physical health. Moreover, the level of independence score was significantly associated with age, marital status, occupation, education level and socioeconomic status. Poor and fair quality of life scores present among breast cancer patients
