Abstract : In the past decade, there was tremendous growth in the number of internet and mobile phone users worldwide. Mobile users increased from approximately 4 billion users in 2013 reaching approximately 5 billion in 2019. To increase the awareness about the smartphone addiction among adolescent in Bahrain and to improve the mental health and behaviors of adolescents in the Kingdom of Bahrain. There is a relationship between: Smartphone Addiction, Social Anxiety and Self-Esteem in adolescents aged 16-18 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Girls are more affected than boys. This is a cross sectional study among high school students enrolled in different secondary schools across the kingdom of Bahrain. A sample of 1745 out of a total of 41374 students was obtained. The main area of focus of the study is to determine the effect of smart phone addiction on social anxiety and self-esteem. Results confirmed a statistically significant correlation between smart phone addiction and social anxiety and self-esteem with a P value of 0.038 and <0.001 respectively.
