Abstract : To evaluate the surgical outcome in patients with different Parotid swellings. A total of six patients with parotid swellings were operated in the last six months from May 2022 to Dec 2022. The procedure varies from superficial to total conservative parotidectomy. In all patients, clinicohistopathological and radiological correlation was done. During the last six months we operated six cases of different parotid swellings. All patients presented with unilateral slow-growing swelling below the ear. Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) showed pleomorphic adenoma in 3 patients, 2 had cystic lesions and 1 was suspicious of malignancy. Superficial parotidectomies were done in 3 patients, total conservative parotidectomies were done in the remaining patients with neck dissection in one patient. Pleomorphic adenomas came on histopathology in 3, 1 low-grade, and 1 intermediate-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma, and 1 HIV-related lymphoepithelial cyst came. The main trunk of the facial nerve was identified and preserved. We did not use facial nerve monitor. Two patients developed mild marginal mandibular paresis which was recovered fully with oral steroids. Surgery is the treatment of choice in parotid swellings whether benign or malignant. Providing functional facial nerve should be the aim of every surgeon.
