Abstract : Bilateral variations were observed in the triceps brachii muscle in a human cadaver. This novel variation demonstrated, few fibers of the lateral head of triceps arising from the long head of triceps in the form of a thick aponeurosis. This arrangement was observed in both, right and left upper limbs of the cadaver. Additionally, we found the presence of an anomalous thick muscle belly, deep to the long head of triceps muscle. This muscle passed directly over the neurovascular bundle at the radial groove. Additionally, this muscle belly gave origin to three fleshy slips. One of the slips joined the medial head, one joined the lateral head, and the most prominent slip joined the long head of the triceps muscle. The close proximity between the anomalous muscle and the neurovascular structures is clinically significant as it might cause radial nerve palsy and arterial compression. Hence, knowledge regarding such unusual anatomical variations of triceps muscles are of utmost importance in the conduct of arthroscopic surgeries around the shoulder and in symptoms related to nerve compression syndrome..

Abstract : Epilepsy is one of the frequently occurring neurologic disorders within childhood with a cumulative lifetime incidence of about 3%. MRI is the imaging modality of choice for diagnosing the cause of epilepsy. Objective of the study was to evaluate the role of MRI in the detection and characterisation of lesions in epilepsy among the pediatric population. A prospective study was conducted among the Pediatric age group with epileptic seizures referred for MRI Brain to our Department of Radio-diagnosis. Patients with febrile seizures and known contraindications to MRI were excluded. The demographic details, birth history, family history, clinical history and examination details were collected using a clinical proforma. The participants were then subjected to an MRI Brain scan according to the protocol. The data collected were entered in MS Excel and analysed using statistical software. The study population had 41.5% subjects with less than 1 year of age and 33% in the 6 to 12 years age group with a slight male preponderance of 1.3: 1 and mean age of 46.7 months. 85.8% of the population had generalized onset while 9.4% focal onset seizures. Anoxia and Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (35.8%) was the most common etiology followed by developmental malformations (22.6%) and infections (9.4%). 22 (20.75%) subjects had Cystic encephalomalacia with gliosis followed by 9 (8.49%) had Periventricular Leukomalacia. It was concluded that the MRI Brain scan helped in identifying the diagnosis and etiology of pediatric seizure and paved way for the treatment of the patient medically as well as surgically..

Abstract : Henna leaves (Lawsomia inermis Linn.) is traditional medicine that used to treat diabetes mellitus in Indonesia. Previous studies reported that Henna leaves extract showed in vitro and in vivo hypoglycemic activities. In the present study, for the first time antihyperglycemic activity of Henna leaves extract in aloxan-induced diabetic zebrafish (Danio rerio) was investigated. Four different extracts using n-hexane, ethyl acetate, ethanol 96% and distilled water were prepared by maceration technique. Each of them (2.50 mg/mL) was given to the alloxan-induced diabetic zebrafish, daily (for 3 days treatment period). Blood glucose levels of zebrafish were measured on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd days after the treatment. The distilled water was administered as a negative control and metformin (0.23 mg/mL) was administered as the positive control. The blood glucose levels were analyzed by using two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) continued by Tukey test at p<0.05. All extracts were resulted significant antihyperglycemic effects in time-dependent manner (p<0.05). Furthermore, the extracts of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol 96% were exhibited antihyperglycemic effects, similar with metformin (p>0.05). The L. inermis Linn. leaves extracts are potential to be developed as new antidiabetic substances. Abstract : The study aims to compare the efficacy of 2%lidocaine & 4%articaine & evaluate pain perception during needle insertion by the conventional and alternative techniques of local anaesthesia. The present experimental study included 180 patients between the ages of 30 and 50 who did not have any systemic diseases requiring local anaesthesia for tooth extraction. Which were divided into two groups. In group, A conventional technique was used, while in group B alternative technique was applied to provide Local Anaesthesia. The groups were further subdivided, and 45 patients in each group received 2% Lignocaine while the rest 45 patients received 4% Articaine as an Anaesthetic drug. The pain of the patient was measured with the help of the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). The main pain score in the conventional group was 1.03±0.75 and was significantly more significant than the mean score in the alternative group was 0.26±0.44. The mean pain score for the Conventional Lignocaine subgroup was 1.33±0.79, the Conventional Articaine subgroup was 0.73±0.57, the Alternative Lignocaine subgroup was 0.40±0.49, and Alternative Articaine subgroup was 0.13±0.34. The mean pain score was significantly greater in the Lignocaine subgroup in comparison to the Articaine subgroup. The efficiency of the alternative technique in relieving pain was significantly more significant than the Conventional Technique, and the efficiency of4% of articaine in relieving pain was significantly more significant than the 2% Lignocaine..

Abstract : Garments manufacturing industry is highly labor-intensive especially in developing countries like Pakistan. Most of the times the labor has to work in adverse conditions. Despite of the developments in workshop practices and technology, garment industry is among the most labor-intensive industries. The working generally consists of long hours with one lunch break in the middle of the day. These workers are rarely provided with appropriate workstations and weak social infrastructure adds to the risk of discomfort and illness. But such risks are rarely investigated at workplace. The objective of this research is to determine the Ergonomics risk factors for workers in clothing manufacturing and its association with musculoskeletal problems in Raiwind city Lahore. Analytical cross sectional was conducted. 335 participants from clothing industry were included. Rapid Entire Body Assessment was used for risk factors associated. Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire was be used to assess musculoskeletal problems. There is significant difference of NORDIC and REBA score between types of equipment use with participates using manual equipment having higher NORDIC and REBA score. There is strong positive correlation between REBA risk measurement and NORDIC musculoskeletal disorders. This study concluded that there is strong positive correlation between REBA risk measurement and NORDIC musculoskeletal disorders. Increasing ergonomic risk increases musculoskeletal disorders. It also concluded that Female workers have higher ergonomic risk and musculoskeletal disorders, workers using equipment have higher ergonomic risk and musculoskeletal disorders, workers having more than 5 years of xiv experience have higher ergonomic risk and musculoskeletal disorders, workers in seating working position have higher ergonomic risk and musculoskeletal disorders, workers using manual equipment have higher ergonomic risk and musculoskeletal disorders..
